THE TAN VS. BLACK DEBATE
Many people ask me why I did not get black pants or have grey/tan shirts underneath. The reason is two-fold: first, the darker the suit, the harder it is to see the damages, burns and blood, especially in the dark on Halloween.

Second, not being 6'8", I had to get layers going. Black would not work as they would all blend together. My ideal suit would be a little darker than this but, from past experience, I have learned to take it slow when darkening the suit.

GETTING DIRTY
This is a lot harder than it looks. Most shirts and pants, even bought at a salvation army, are hard to dirty up. I would recommend not using dry dirt and go for the thickest, blackest dirt/mud you can find. If you are really into it, wear the suit and fall into the mud to get that realistic look.

BURNING THE SUIT
This can be tricky. I used a small propane weilder with towel in hand to dampen the flame. If you move up and down evenly, about 2-3 inches from the suit, you will get that nice burnt look. Burning the burlap jacket takes him and patience. Be extra careful as burlap goes up in flames easily.

DAMAGING THE SUIT
This is the fun and easy part. For my suit, many of the holes and rips are from previous F13 movies. For example, I have the knee/knife shot from PART III, the shoulder/machette shot from PART II and more. I have learned from experience that it is best to not rip too much. Rip, then wear it to see how much more the suit can take before falling apart. Enjoy the carnage.
