As a non-profit organization, Guitars Alive waited a long time for a website, thinking it would be unaffordable. Besides being a great website designer, however, Derek Newman was very reasonably priced and easy to work with. We are delighted with the

DEREK'S THOUGHTS
Sudbury's premiere music charity event is Guitars Alive. The website is for a yearly event in Sudbury to raise money for music scholarships and to raise awareness of music programs in the city. I was also thrilled to offer a non-profit agency a price that they could afford.

This was my 2nd of 4 websites with Philip Candelaria. One of the problems with designing four different sites, is designing four different sites. Phil wanted each one looking slightly different but liked certain things about the CGQ website that we wanted to keep such as the banner/boxes.

For this website, we went with the 2-tier, flash navigation, a nice brown and a banner section which allowed for versatility in terms look. For simple websites, I encourage making it flexible. One can subtly and smiply change the banners location to make every page look a little different.

"With interest in Guitars Alive growing steadily each year, it was important for us to be able to communicate with the public on a broader scale; in order to showcase our organization and to provide updates on upcoming events. Derek made the task of creating a website both practical and affordable. He was a pleasure to work with and I am extremely happy with the final product."

"In today's world, electronic media provides a multitude of opportunities for artists and promoters of music to let the entire world know about what they have to offer. From my vantage point, Derek has used his considerable expertise to design an instrument that will provide us with some very effective ways promoting our foundation and the work we do. All at a very reasonable cost. He did this work in concert with us so that the site reflects the aspects of our work that we think are most important. Excellent work.
