TRIBUTE TO AIMEE LEONARD
I was saddened to learn that singer/songwriter AIMEE LEONARD passed away on January 31st at the young age of 29. Aimee asked me to be the drummer on her debut album and I must say it was an honor. We spent a lot of time together during those 4-6 months, working on her album, song by song and became friends. We probably were with each other five days a week. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out. If you have a chance, please check out some of Aimee's songs and pictures within my website.

AIMEE LEONARD - SPECIAL MOMENT
My most vivid and special moment with Aimee was during rehearsal for her album. She said she had this song but wanted to work with me, just the two of us, before getting other members of the band in on it. That song became my favorite of the album entitled TAILIGHTS. You can listen to it by clicking here.

There is one point at around 4:11 where Aimee lets her amazing voice rip. That was not in the song at first but, during one take we discussed opening up the song near the end and she just let it rip. I will never forget that moment Aimee. I remember not only being blown away and getting goose-bumps but also getting off my drum throne screaming “YEAH” in excitement. We smiled as we knew the song was ready. She had a beautiful smile and personality.

AIMEE LEONARD - THANK YOU
Aimee, I hope you knew how much I appreciated you asking me to be the drummer on your album. It was an honor to play with someone as talented as you. In my group counselling course, I ask my students talk about themselves for 10 minutes so they can feel what it may be like for clients. I do one as well. I always play TAILIGHTS, TAKEN, A SONG FOR ME as well as MILLENIUM and WINTER (Chris Kivinen-Newman featuring Aimee) for my students. They, like anyone who saw/heard you, were blown away by your talent. Rest in peace.
